YANNY OR LAUREL WHAT DO YOU HEAR?

Hey, bloggers, today listened to the Yanny or Laurel audio. In our Literacy class, most of us heard Yanny instead of Laurel. We wonder why we were hearing different words, and then Mr. G told us that the answer is in the 

 In our Literacy, most of us heard Yanny instead of Laurel. The secret is frequency. The audio information that makes us hear Yanny is higher frequency than the audio information that makes us hear Laurel. Some of the variations may be due to the audio system playing the sound. For example, you might have a better set of headphones that might make you hear different sounds like the Yanny and Laurel.


But some of it is also the parts of your ears, and what you’re expecting to hear. Sometimes you could hear both and that is normal for some people. Older adults tend to start losing their hearing and stop hearing a high frequency, which means you will hear Laurel more than Yanny. In the whole world, 42% of people hear Laurel, 40% of people hear Yanny and 17% of people hear both. If you listen to loud music you probably hear  Laurel because of its low frequency.
